Day 2: In Srinagar: After breakfast sightseeing of Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Bagh (abode of pleasure) built in 1632 AD by Asif Khan brother-in-law of Emperor Jehangir. We also visit Shalimar Bagh (abode of love) built by Emperor Jehangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about 12 and 15 kms respectively. En-route we visit carpet-weaving factory.Lunch at houseboat. Afternoon we take Shikara (traditional Kashmiri boat) ride on Famous Dal Lake visiting floating and vegetable gardens also witness walnut woodcarving and paper mashie making demonstration. Day 3: Srinagar-Gulmarg-Srinagar: After breakfast we start a full day trip to Gulmarg (60 kms/2 hours) (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 meters above sea level. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world and highest 18 hole golf course in the world. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view en-route from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. Enjoy a short trek or horse ride up to Khilangmarg that can be covered in about 3 hours. Also enjoy sledge riding on snow. Day 4: Srinagar-Kargil: After an early breakfast we drive to Kargil (205 Kms./6 hours drive) – on the historic trade route, also known as the ‘Treaty Road’ Being located in lap of the Himalayas, Kargil serves as an important base for undertaking adventure tourism and trips to the exotic Zanskar Valley and other Himalayan regions. Visitors traveling between Srinagar and Leh have to make a night halt here before starting the second leg of their journey. Day 6: Leh After breakfast proceed for a excursion to Khardung-la (18,380 ft.), one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Day 7: Leh Today take an full day excursion to Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Gompas. Shey Gompa lies on the way to Hemis. It is situated on the top of a hill and houses the largest victory stupa with a golden top. The statues made of copper and glided with gold are worth seeing. Thiksey Gompa lies on the left side of this road to Hemis. One can have a beautiful view of Indus Valley from the Gompa. Wall paintings of this Gompa are very interesting.
